Of course the syntax of a URI fragment identifier (which MSL defines) is dependent on the media type of the referenced entity. XML Schema suggests "text/xml" or "application/xml". RFC 3023 indicates that XPointer (once recommended) is expected to be the fragment id syntax for these media types. Ought XML Schema define its own media type (now that MSL has a W3C home)? -Jonathan
