Title: RE: XML versus Relational Database Ok. Just as some resist XML in favor of a context-free parse, the
notion
of
context keeps coming up (watching an upheaval in the X3D design
debates over wrapper tags).
I'm
hard pressed to consider XML more context-free than a relational
table
which has no explicit order, relying on indexes for optimized search.
Given
XSLT/XPath and the DOM API, context seems to be
everything.
So
please explain to me the semantic being imposed. It seems relevant
to
almost every thread these days and I wish to learn more. I
apologize
in
advance if you have to explain in simplifications. Always
appreciated. Len Bullard
