geek cruises
I've posted my presentations from the XML Excursion Geek Cruise (yes,
that's real - see http://geekcruises.com) on my site. While none of them
quite convey the Carribbean air and sun or the surreal feeling of
presenting in opulent settings which are moving up and down occasionally,
they might be useful.

XML Linking Language: Creating Powerful and Flexible Hypertext Structures
http://simonstl.com/articles/xlink/
(This was an update of an older presentation.)

XPointer: Referencing points and ranges inside of Documents
http://simonstl.com/articles/xptr/xptr.html
(This is a fairly brief introduction which supplemented the XLink content.)

Transformations: Making File Conversions Fun and a Way of Life
http://simonstl.com/articles/transform/transform.html
(Kind of theoretical, taking a look at how we might start using XML
transformations to build some very different architectures, as well as the
more immediate impacts of XML's relatively easy transformability.)

XML's Impact on Web Development: Remodeling Traditional Web Apps for XML
http://simonstl.com/articles/web2xml/webapp.html
(XML for Web developers, taking a look at what XML has to offer the Web and
what impact it's having on architectures and infrastructures.)

The Geek Cruises site doesn't list it yet, but hopefully there will be
another XML Excursion at some point. I'll be writing more about the cruise
itself at some point soon, but ten days of presentations and shore leave
made for some interesting thoughts, even a lot on XML.
