Ok. The Golem has to provide a useful service. Here is a a useful thing beyond searching. Could an ontology be used to service an engine that analyzes a text and determines the intent of the sender with regards to the text and what actions would meet that intent? For example, someone sends me a Request for Proposal. As an initial part of the process of responding, one has to analyze the text in excruciating detail to determine such things as o features of the offering that match or approximate the features requested, o features that can be met but by alternative means, o features that can be met with development but cannot be met currently, o features that will never be met with or without development o sentence structures that can lead to contract difficulties later on (for instance, use of universals such as ALL, ALWAYS, IN EVERY CASE, etc.) Can an ontology be used to create a proposal such that the analysis is easier or requires less analysis? If business on the web is to be "frictionless", then you have to understand the parts that need grease. Len http://www.mp3.com/LenBullard Ekam sat.h, Vipraah bahudhaa vadanti. Daamyata. Datta.
