I'm saying that there is no way to definitively assert how many digits
there are in a zip code. One Schema's word is as good as anothers.

No, note I used "i.e." XML Schemas :-)

Believe me, I've seen all of this stuff. I could probably recite it for
you! Of course other people may not have done, so the links are useful

No. I have done something like that though (that works for any XHTML page)
