The .rlx files are a compiled form of the DTD, which XMetaL uses to make it quicker to load. You don't need them, XMetaL works just fine from a normal DTD. MSXML is used in several places, but you can get away without it if, for example, you don't want the browser preview. The styling is all done with the XMetaL formatting engine, so there's no dependency on MSXML there. Lauren
