just an hour ago Henry Thompson announced in comp.text.xml that XML schema
has advanced to candidate recommendation:

I think the message from Henry himself in this list is a bit late, see the
posting from Henry with subject "Self-installing version of XSV available
for WIN32" where he says: "In conjunction with the recent announcement of
the advancement of XML
Schema to Candidate Recommendation..."
