As was previously announced, the OASIS server crashed a couple weeks ago,
and we've been rebuilding our three sites and recreating pages since. It's
possible that some pages are still not up yet; apparently
http://www.xml.org/xml-dev/index.shtml is one of them. My apologies.
However, the xml-dev list archives have stayed up, and are and have been
continually available at http://lists.xml.org/archives/xml-dev/

Unfortunately, polite requests never seem to reach my mailbox; what I get
are public complaints. If you have requests or complaints, polite or not,
you should send them to me. What happens, instead, is that people bitch and
moan in private; when they finally get fed up that nothing's changed they
post a scathing remark to the list, usually forgetting to CC me or anyone
who can do anything about any perceived problems.

I scan the xml-dev list for problems, but I don't have time to read every
post in full; I have a few hundred messages a day going through my mailbox
from the 50+ lists that I administer. So I don't always see comments that
are embedded in a post of a different topic and not sent directly to me.

Unsub info in the message trailer is something that I would like to do but
cannot due to limitations of the mail list service that we are using. Unsub
information *is* included in the message header, which you can see if your
mailer displays that information. And, just as a reminder, you can send
email to xml-dev-request@l... with the word "unsubscribe" as the
body of the message.
