OK, let me try to clarify in the simplest terms: * Office 2000 attempted to use XHTML (which is XML). * Office 2000 produces something that resembles XHTML, and can be turned into XHTML with moderate postprocessing. * I'm not trying to excuse the flaws in Office2000 -- those are being fixed for the next version. * I think it's reasonable for people to refuse to call it XML. You can call it whatever you want. However, with a little bit of extra work, you can do many useful things with the existing office and XML. I hope people don't lose sight of that just because I was dumb enough to get the O2k output confused with pure XML.. Thanks, -Joshua
