you should look at XMetal. the style interface has no <> in sight, I
promise. your browser is used for preview of the result

Surely this is just the point at issue? It plainly is not clear, from the
discussion, what these different communities are. Many people seem to
regard XSL FO as covering more or less the same area as CSS; for
myself, I want high-end typesetting, and am `happy'  to use HTML+CSS
on the Web, but I suspect I am unusual.
