system development cycle
> What has this to do with XML? Well, last year, it took us one week to
decide to use XML for the biggest project (5 programmers and 2 testers, $3
mil.)
we got. In the old days, in my previous company, it took us more than one
year ....

The system development cycle for the SABRE reservation system (American
Airlines) was 10 years, starting in 1954. The system went online in 1964 to
serve a limited market.

Who knows what that will be when everyone has powerful databases, XML
schemas for everything, and the ability to generate applications by doing
queries and transformations?
