Which browser supports XSLFO as well as XSLT?. What about IE5.5 and
Netscape6?

Didier replies:
Actually no browsers are supporting XSLFO but at least the two main ones
will support XSLT. Is there a need for XSLFO? maybe, but the probability is
quite low (in fact near zero) that the main browsers will include XSLFO. The
actual paradigm is that HTML and later on XHTML is used as a rendering
language. It has the merit to support the billions of documents out there.
And these documents are already encoded in HTML. Now that the web has a
probably the biggest legacy in the human history (in terms of information I
mean), dont't expect a revolution but more an evolution. XSLFO is a
revolution not an evolution from the actual state of facts. XSLT used as a
transformation tool and XHTML as a rendering language is an evolution.

So because XSLT allows the transformation from any XML vocabulary into an
other, it can be used to transform an XML document into a document
structured in XHTML or HTML for rendition. Conclusion: XSLT and HTML/XHTML
support is what you can reasonably expect not XSLT/XSLFO support.

Personally, I wouldn't expect to have XSLT/XSLFO in a near future (even in a
far future :-) but for sure I expect to see XSLT/XHTML with the addition of
new modules like the SMIL time module (probability: 0.9), an SVG module
(probablity: 0.7) etc.. incorporated in most browsers in the next two years.

Netscape 6 may or will incorporate TransforMiix
Explorer 5.5 may or will incorporate the new msxml component (this latter is
a work in progress and the target is to make it compliant to the 1.0
recommendation).
