XML & Java Primer

I am trying to construct a list of books, instruction manuals,  references,
as well as  primers of the following 2 topics:
1)    XML and related technology.
2)    Designing and programming applications using XML in Java.

The contents can be in both  paper or computer based. When listing more then
one title please rate the titles based on the overall quality of the
publication and your taste. Kindly include  the titles and authors as well
as any URL links in your list.
