Sorry Sebastian, it may not fit your vision of the computing universe, but the fact that mere mortals can work with XML in a text editor is one of its greatest selling points, in my experience. Otherwise, I think we'd all be sitting around playing with opaque binary formats. Oh yeah - we've done that already, and still do. Maybe it's time for a change.
