what s wrong with svg
There was a message just posted on the www-svg mailing list (http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/www-svg/2000Mar/0006.html) that was fairly harsh on the split of SVG into Exchange and Stylable SVG
formats. I've invite the author, Håkon Wium Lie, to cross-post here and join the discussion.
It would make life a lot easier of path's d attribute and animateMotion's path attribute were replaced with a child <data>M 0 0 ...</data> element. Element content could readily be more easily
generated in XSLT and XML editors and tools are well suited for very long element content. This shouldn't cause a substantial disruption to the existing SVG code (definitely not as much as an XML
element based syntax).
