Since we are actively considering how to edit this list - in the scholarly sense - it will be very helpful if any references in and outside the list were resolvable. Thus "Chris" in my posting is unique to a human, but some correspondents use names to refer to previous posters and "Henry", "Tim" and other names are ambiguous. A device which is used a lot in MOOs and other virtual communities is to use suffix initials, e.g. PeterMR or HenryR as opposed to HenryT.
