Reporting the CDATA int does not hurt anybody who is not interested. 2. People also might be unhappy if they do not know if " or ' was used as quote for attributes. OK, I see that each option has several advantages and disadvantages. In the end, it's ok to me to take some extra effort if I want to write the "same" document back from sax2 events.
