Actually, it wouldn't be so crazy an idea, especially if an outsider (with
enough XML understanding to follow the discussion) did it.  

A lot of people are confused when they find that the XML community, which
looks pretty unified from the outside, has this much controversy in it.  An
intro to the various issues would help those folks a lot, though it might
also make those of us participating chafe, myself included.  Probably too
much work, though.

After all, wasn't XML (once upon a time) supposed to be _simple_?
