Thanks for the endless clarifications :) I _think_ I've already solved this problem in CGI::XMLForm, a Perl module on CPAN (although we could be talking at complete cross purposes). What I do is encode my CGI variable names in an XPath-like format. The CGI on the server can then generate XML from the form variables, and you can then do your XSL or whatever on that XML.
