Yes, it does.  For some reason, it took me a while to sort out what it
all meant, and I came to the right conclusion.  I then got confused, and
thought it could be much simpler (of course, the effort involved is almost
nil for getting what I've got, and it is all needed, so it isn't a problem).

The standard I've got states that a DocumentFragment is a Node (or at least,
it does in the Java headers I've got).  That was my mistake, I think.

Funny, you're not the first person to ask me this.

OK, I want to store XML documents in an oo-database, so I'm implementing
my own XML implementation which uses a particular database.  The documents
are stored in the DOM (not as text documents), and there is also some
structure built on top (so we have links between documents, links back to
the DTD to ensure validity, links to pages which render documents to HTML,
and stuff like that).

Documents are generated automatically from a DTD, so the structure is
already there, and can be displayed in a form-like way.  Change the DTD, and
the document should change accordingly.

Plus, it seemed like fun and a good way of learning how it all fits in
(although perhaps getting and playing with an existing DOM implementation
would be a good idea).
