CDATA element content is Evil and Rude. The only reason to have it
is to avoid using <s. Yet it doesn't do what you really want, because
it is terminated by *any* ETAGO ("</") followed by a name start
character, whether or not it's the matching one. (If the wrong
name appears after the ETAGO, it's an error.)

All the purposes of CDATA element content are served much better
by wrapping the content in "<![CDATA[" ... "]]>" brackets.

XML *has* CDATA attributes. What are you thinking of here?

OTOH I have now been convinced that leaving out data attributes
was a regrettable loss, although they can be sort of simulated
by ordinary attributes that just happen to go with the
unparsed entity. (Essentially, they are attributes attached
directly to an unparsed entity; i.e. for a picture, the height
and width of the picture.)
