msxml auction demo

When I run the auction demo in msxml 1.9. I get the error : 
java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: com/ms/xml/om/ElementFactory: method
createElement(ILcom/ms/xml/util/Name;)Lcom/ms/xml/om/Element; not found

It originates in main.htm.

I have followed instructions and can see the method implemented in
msxml.java:
class NullElementFactory implements ElementFactory
{
    public NullElementFactory()
    {
    }

    public Element createElement(Element parent, int type, Name tag, String
text)
    {
        return null;
    }


I am new to this. Can anyone help me?
