You and Tim seem to agree. Tim says: yhe CDATA element content feature is
poorly designed, non-intuitive and thus not very self-describing. 
In other words: it is Broken As Designed.  

You seem to be saying that they can still be useful. I can accept that,
though I'd never use one myself.

So the union of your points of view is that CDATA element types are B.A.D.
but occasionally useful.
