This article was posted to the VRML list today.  It makes reference to
the need for VRML and XML integration.  As this is a proposal for the 
VRML NG (next generation) and the concepts of a prototype based system 
are similar to concepts discussed here, I think it may be worthy 
reading for the XML language and implementation designers.

With the recent events concerning the XML Chrome application, the 
work in architectures, the need to demonstrate that extensibility 
need not always be the prelude to balkanization, approaches such as 
this paper describe should be of some interest.
