[XML-DEV Mailing List Archive Home] [By Thread] [By Date] [Recent Entries] [Reply To This Message] What is PI data exactly?
So if a PI has a target and data, what is the data in the following scenarios? <?Foo?> <?Foo ?> Is the first null data and the second a string of spaces? Is PI data normalized in any way? If the SAX interface specifies that the PI event is target and data, with null if no data, which of the above scenarios would have null data? Are the processors out there consistent in this? Where in the spec did everyone go to back their decisions on this? If there was some text in there and it had spaces on either side, is that kept or normalized? Why is the sky blue? :-) But really, is there some authoritative answer to this or is everyone just doing it ad hoc or is everyone just following someone else's lead?
