Jim,

I think you are getting too caught up with web browsers which are, IMHO,
just a small part of things to come.  XML is bigger than web browsers.

XML is to information what electricity is to modern society.  People without
access to the Net will be using XML-based technologies.  Everytime a cash
register rings, a garage door opens, a heart stops beating, a bomb falls,
information packaged as XML will travel back and forth to let others know
and get things done.

It is my belief that no more than 60% of the world population will ever use
a web browser even if the net-capable computer cost is brought down to $100.
There are lots of people out there who don't know how to read, don't want to
read, or don't have the time to read.  They will not use a browser and they
will not care if XML is superior to HTML.  They will still be using XML
unknowingly, however.
