Subject:Mapper does not show all nodes! Author:andre goldi Date:11 Aug 2011 12:26 PM
Hy,
I just started using Stylus Studio and followed the tuturials showing how to transform EDI to XML. Seems to work everything fine but now I realised that the in the mapper view I can not see all the notes the XML-File contains.
So for example my EDI-File contains these two lines:
RFF+UC:10000002345665
RFF+ON:2345678
I can see the values of these lines in the XML of the ".sep"-file but in the Mapper-View I just can find one node with RFF.
Can some one help me please. It is really important.

The XML Mapping tool shows the document structure, not each node in the document; when an element repeats, it appears once with an specific repeating icon.
The tool is designed to allow transforming a group of documents that share the same document's structure.

if you share a complete example (sample EDI data, sef file and target XML structure and a simple description for the field you want to map) we can provide a more detailed description.
See the attached screenshot with a similar scenario with a repeating element GROUP2, where the first instance represents the buyer and the second the supplier. The mapping is implemented with simple loop and two "if" statements in cascade.

Sorry I forgot to attache the EDI-File.
But wow this really helps a lot. Many thanks. I will return with a few questions I think. Because I have to do mappings from "EDI to XML" and from "XML to EDI" too. And I am using Stylus Studio just for some days now.
Just wanne say why it is so important that I got the things working. After doing some research finding a Mapping Tool I recommend my company to use Stylus Studio (instead of MapForce for example). So you can imagine that I am little bit under pressure.:-)
Many thanks.
