As I want to use the format-number() function in a stylesheet, I am trying to get Stylus Studio to use a JVM. I have installed the JRE from Sun (version 1.3.0) but when I check the Help About box it still says Java runtime library not found.
I have tried setting the path in the options without any effect. If I press the Auto detect button then the path is reset to \jre\bin\java.exe although this does not exist. I can run the java executable from the command line.

Neil,
are you trying to run "auto-detect" in the "Application Settings|Java
Virtual Machine" option page? That page should have a field called "Runtime
Library" which should point to a jvm.dll located somewhere, while in your
email you are talking about java.exe, which is what options control in
Plugin Settings|Java|External JVM

This was a problem related to the fact that JRE 1.3.x only installs the
HotSpot VM.
The problem has been fixed in 3.1 BL69l, available now on: http://www.stylusstudio.com/update
