You use the Type Derivation dialog box to specify the base type from which you want to derive the type you are currently defining in the XML Schema Editor Diagram tab. You can select from types defined by World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) XML Schema, as well as from any types defined in the XML Schema you are redefining.
