This is my first day using Stylus Studio. The blinking is making me crazy! How can it be turned off?

Icons blink in various places around the GUI. When I'm trying to develop of course not everything works or fits together until I'm done. The blinking is very distracting and is enough to make me look at a different product.

Almost always there is a "match: Row" blinking just above my text area. I click it to turn it off but comes back blinking along. Cannot find what it is or how to make it stop.

Thanks.

Hi Marie,
from your description, I think you are using the XSLT editor, and you are referring to the combo box located between the toolbar and the editing area. That combo box, rather than blinking, changes its content according to your position, showing the pattern of the xsl:template instruction you are currently inside.
Is your document very big? Are you able to take a screenshot or a video capture of the blinking?

Thanks,
Alberto

Yes, it is in the xslt editor. No, it doesn't look like a combo box, just a white bar above the actual editor pane and below the bar with the Play button. I will attach a small section of the window so you can see. I do see that the blinking is positional. The thing is that this blinks all the time if I leave my cursor in a section that makes it blink. If it blinked a couple times then stopped, that would be better, or have a way to turn off attention-grabbers like that.

The other place, I figured out, was at the bottom right corner and had to do with updates. I can only use what I'm given and cannot just update bz an update is available. So, to have that blinking at me all the time was distracting. I turned off update notification and it stopped.

the other place is the Stylus Get It Now icon. That arrow moving down all the time. I will want to keep a problem solution visible to me for varying periods of time and to have that motion away from where the problem solution is located on-screen, is distracting. I already have Stylus Studio so that motion and the icon itself seems unnecessary. Don't most people already have SS who read this page?

The problem with "distracting" is that it uses moments and cognitive power that are better spent on the problem at hand rather than spent on eliminating these kinds of distractions.

Thanks for your considerations and prompt replies.

Marie.
