HereGear HereGearSubject: StylusStudio X15 Review - first glance, a few issues

I bought it for the java code gen,

Some notable issues thus far with the product:

1. There's a major usability bug: upon startup, can't set output display type in console, it defaults to tree-view. (see my other post related to this).

2. Another bug - related to #1 above: when processing large files, if console output is set to Tree, SS takes up too much memory (I guess - who knows, there's no indication of that)...and never returns data, just keeps thinking and thinking (I left it spinning Friday after work, still spinning Monday morning)

3. Why is SS using the windows registry to fetch the java version? Developers need to be able to change their java version without having to update their machine's java version. So now I can't test code w/multiple versions of java right when 1.8 came out? Makes me think this product came out of a .NET dev shop.

You can switch Java Virtual Machine under
Tools -> Options -> General -> Java Virtual Machine

Stylus Studio requires the JVMs to be installed using their Windows installers.

We will more than happy to work with you on a test case to reproduce the scalability problem.

Hope this helps
