Lorenzo MilesiSubject: Edi/Euritmo automatic conversion
Author: Lorenzo Milesi

Hi.

From what I read in features table of the software it can convert between EDI standards. But can it do that automatically, or a mapping between the formats must be created first?
I mean, if I need to convert a EDI/D96A/ORDERS to EDIFACT/ORDERS, can this conversion be performed automatically or I need to do ALL the mapping between fields?

thanks

Hi Lorenzo,

D96A is already a version of EDIFACT, what exactly is your target format?

May be a different version of EDIFACT, or different message?

The Converter engines can be used outside Stylus Studio either via command line or via Java API .

http://media.datadirect.com/download/docs/xmlconverters/java/xmlconverters_ug/wwhelp/wwhimpl/js/html/wwhelp.htm

XML Converters are bundled in Stylus Studio but licensed separately
<Stylus Studio Folder>\Components\XML Converters for Java

The following tutorial shows an example of conversion from one format to another

Hope this helps

Sorry i meant from D96A/Orders to Eancom/Orders, for example. Is this Translation done automatically or there's some mapping needed?
Thanks

Yes you will need to design a mapping between the EDIFACT source schema and the EANCOM target schema.

Hope this helps
