I'm experiencing a strange problem with StylusStudio 2010 XML Enterprise suite. When I start the application I get a message dialog saying "You are being redirected to interaktiv.nsb.no". I know this url from a train ride I did a couple of months ago (yes, haven't used StylusStudio for a while). There was a wireless connection available and I connected to it to get some work done (using StylusStudio). Ever since that train ride, this message has been showing up whenever I start Stylus. If I click the close button in the message dialog, the application starts and I am actually able to open files. But, if I open a large xml document and view it as text, Stylus takes quite some time to try to render the content (looks frozen), before it crashes and displays the "send error report" dialog. If I change to another editor/view (tree, grid or schema) just after opening the file, everything looks fine and seems to be working.

Questions:

* I don't know if the first "redirect" dialog is relevant to problem with the crashes, but how can I get rid of it? It only shows up for StylusStudio.

* What could be wrong with the text editor? Some sort of parser problem?

* Is there any way to reset stuff here, without reinstalling the software?

Hi Bjorn,

The dialog box you are showing may be triggered by Stylus Studio while accessing the network but is not in our the product.

What happen if you open Internet Explorer and try to navigate to www.stylusstudio.com?

You may need to reset your wireless network settings.
Have you tried rebooting?

which Windows version are you running?

Have you let Stylus Studio send the error report?

How many Megabyte is the XML document?
Could you send us the XML document at stylussupport@ivitechnologies.com?

I've no problem doing that. No other program shows that dialog box.

Yes, several times since the dialog first appeared

Windows7, Ultimate 64-bit

Currently, I'm unable to send the error report. My mail program (Thunderbird) opens up, but no mail is sent as far as I can see.

1.5MB.
But I've tried with smaller xml documents and they fail too. So, apparently size doesn't matter.

As I said no email is sent to Stylus when I click "send error report". Is the information logged in a file? If so, where can I find that file on disk and what name does it have?

After discussing offline, we can safely exclude that the reason of the crash is the document size.

With Bjorn's help we are investigating what may interfere with Stylus Studio, we will report back when we have found the cause.
