Hi Emile,

If you are using Saxon you can take advantage of saxon:serialize.
In alternative you can write a simple java extension that runs an identity transform using the JAXP API.

Hope this helps
Ivan

<?xml version='1.0'?>
<xsl:stylesheet version="1.0"
xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform"
xmlns:saxon="http://saxon.sf.net/"
exclude-result-prefixes="saxon" >
<xsl:output name="list-output" method="xml"/>
<xsl:template match="/">
<data>
<xsl:value-of select="com_company_functions_MappingFunctions:base64Encode(
saxon:serialize(/, 'list-output'))"/>
</data>
</xsl:template>
</xsl:stylesheet>
