Ok I've got this statement:

<xsl:if test="count(grandparent/parent/child/assettype='Document/Instructions/Manual') > '2' or count(grandparent/parent/child/assettype='Document/Instruction Sheet') > '0'">
hellotest
</xsl:if>

But i'm getting an error on this specific xsl:if statement... Can someone point me in the right direction? I am having trouble figuring out what to look for and if I had go guess I'd say it something to do with having the assettype on the end?

You didn't say what error.

But I did notice that you are comparing the counts to the string values
'0' and '2' instead of the numeric values 0 and 2. Don't quote them if you don't want them to be strings.
