A data file, and a simple query that fails as described, has been transmitted as requested. Please let me know if there is anything else you need. Thank you.

Hi Page,

This sounds a scalability problem in Saxon 9.1.

DataDirect XQuery, available in Stylus Studio Enterprise, executes the same query in 700 ms, using the default heap size.

Why is this suddenly a problem? Why is a 25M file a scalability problem in your "Professional" product? Something isn't right.

Is there a way to solve this problem in the "Professional Suite" product?

Page,

In the screenshot posted you have set the Java Heap for the external JVM. These settings apply to the Java code execution.

I was able to execute the query adding -Xmx512m to the internal JVM settings, seen screenshot.

Hope this helps

Couldn't use 512 on the machine in question, but 256 worked.

Thanks much, Ivan
