Jorge GarciduenasSubject: XML editor corrupts my file
Author: Jorge Garciduenas

I am working on an xml file: cutting and pasting, moving blocks of code around, cleaning it.
After some work when I click the icon to have the file checked for well formed (I do it every time I make a change) I get an error and sections of my file look corrupted. Please see attachment.
The first time it happened yesterday it was a real set back as I had to revert to the backup file and re do all my changes.
Can you provide guidance on how to resolve/avoid this issue?
Thanks

Hi Jorge,
which version of Stylus Studio are you using (including the build number)?

Thanks,
Alberto

Hi Jorge,
can you identify what is the sequence of operations that lead to the corruption? If you can, could you then dowload an evaluation copy of the latest Stylus Studio 2009 Release 2 and check if it still occurs?
In that case, can you send the XML document and the list of operations to stylus-field-report@progress.com?

Thanks in advance,
Alberto

Hey Alberto,

It is going to be very difficult for me to identify the sequence of operations that lead to the corruption. I will have to start all over again from my previous version and try to repeat all the changes I made. The issue happened to me three times when I was doing my changes. Last time I just merged the previous good file with the corrupted file that already contained a lot of my updates. What I can tell you for sure is that I had not made any changes to the sections in the file that were corrupted.
Thanks,

Jorge
