I am trying to convert the XML file to EDI file, I am getting this error message..
I have followed the link
http://www.stylusstudio.com/edi/XML_to_X12.html#save

Hi,
I have tested the X12 document found at that web page, and it does convert fine in both directions. Which version of Stylus Studio are you using? If you have modified the x12-sample.txt, can you post it to this thread?

Thanks,
Alberto

Hi,
you cannot convert an arbitrary XML document to X12; the XML document must adhere to a specific schema to have the informations needed to build a fully compliant EDI message.
If you need to create an EDI message from scratch (instead of editing an existing one, like the web page you were referring to was doing) you should first create the XML Schema for that specific message using the "X12 to XML Schema" document wizard, then use it (for instance, as the target schema in Mapper) to populate the proper fields. The resulting XML document can then be converted into EDI.

Hope this helps,
Alberto

Hi,
the x12-sample.txt is referenced in the same web page you listed in your post. Its direct URL is http://www.stylusstudio.com/edi/x12-sample.txt

You can find several pages on how to work with EDI and XML in Stylus Studio at http://www.stylusstudio.com/edi/ including video tutorials showing the operations step by step.
