We are having what appears to be an intermittent issue using the conveters (java jars) in a java application. The error we get is

com.ddtek.xmlconverter.exception.ConverterException: You do not have a license to use the Built-in or Custom XML Converter product.
at com.ddtek.xmlconverter.exception.ConverterException.WrapAsConverterException(ConverterException.java:43)
at com.ddtek.xmlconverter.ConverterFactory.newConvertToXML(ConverterFactory.java:88)

and thoughts

thanks
andy

Can you tell us a little more about the deployment environment?

We are running a standalone java application that uses IBM MQ as a messaging tool. The application reads files off the queue, creates the converter factory and calls the newConvertToXML with the conversion url. We have many queues and thus conversions that run as separate threads. The conversions run without issue apart from the odd occurence of a license error

Which licenses do you have on that system, and for which version of the
converters?

Also, what does the converter URL look like that you are using?

Is it possible that you use multiple types of converters, and only one
type is failing because of a licensing problem?

We have licenses for the EDIFACT and BUILTIN converters

converter:xsl/3M/3M_Invoice_Converter.conv

the license says

f0=enabled
f2=enabled

we use the built-in converter and edifact converter for many conversions thousands of times a day including the one that says it fails at (the failure is only occasionally).

We also need the version of the converters you are using? 4.0, 3.1, etc.?

Actually, could you open a support case at
http://www.datadirect.com/support

This forum is for support of Stylus Studio itself, and the embedded
components XQuery and XML Converters are best handled through the
general support organization.
