Dear Stylussees,

I want to filter an xml file on multiple values but I don't know what the query syntax is for 'where <column_name> in (x,y,z)' so I am now using a very long query when testing on a lot of values:

for $Request in /eExact/Requests/Request where $Request/FreeFields/FreeNumbers/FreeNumber='1513'or $Request/FreeFields/FreeNumbers/FreeNumber='1589'or $Request/FreeFields/FreeNumbers/FreeNumber='2710'or $Request/FreeFields/FreeNumbers/FreeNumber='2813'or $Request/FreeFields/FreeNumbers/FreeNumber='3459'or $Request/FreeFields/FreeNumbers/FreeNumber='3638'or ........

There must be a simple answer to this question.....

Thanks,

Cynthia

Hi Cynthia,
in XPath the operator '=' returns true is at least one combination of the items in the left and right node sets is equal.
So you can write

for $Request in /eExact/Requests/Request
where $Request/FreeFields/FreeNumbers/FreeNumber = ('1513','1589','2710','2813','3459','3638',...)
return ...
