Richard PottsSubject: contains an invalid path
Author: Richard Potts

Using Stylus Studio 2008 Enterprise R 2 1147b, on XP

I have a problem loading/viewing files on my network.

I double click on one of my xml files on the network server, (I have XMLs associated with stylus studio) and so SS fires up and tries to load the file. And I get the attached error message which includes the text "<Path>/<File> contains an invalid path".

If I copy the file to my desktop and double click on it, it works just fine.

Perhaps file path length? - But if my Windows explorer can view it why cant ss open it?

See example attached.

Hi Richard,

It looks like the path has been some how truncated.
Could you show us the full path?

Thanks!

This a regression in 2008.

The only workaround I can suggest is mapping a network drive to your share.

Using Stylus Studio 2008 Enterprise R 2

\\gal9010301\elec\Diagnostics\Support\VehicleFeeback\2008\Production\Production Vehicle Data Files\08-Aug\Trace\Rejected\NoInitialReadDTCs

The above was the full path.

Example file name I was trying to open:

TRACEXML_J_N73959_PAGGB00184_01_20080806162641.XML

Hopefully it can be fixed soon as it is a pain having to copy all the files off the server before I can open them.

Richard

you should be able to map a network drive to the remote folder that would avoid to copy the files locally.
