Dean MeliaSubject: compile error with generated java coder
Author: Dean Melia
Date: 11 Sep 2008 02:44 AM
Using the example R_Q2 I generated java code then attempted to compile it.
Received error message as follows
Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: sun/tools/java/Constants
at java.lang.ClassLoader.defineClass1(Native Method)

and dialog box 'you need to install java 2 SKD...'

I already have installed JDK 1.5.0_06 so dont get it?

In StylusStudio Tools Options I have JRE 1.6.0_07.
Still under Tools Options I am unable to enter anything into JDK version.
What can I do next to get Stylus Studio to recognise the JDK?

Stylus Studio Enterprise Edition 2008 rlse 2.

Stylus Studio uses the following registry key to detect which JDK is installed

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\
--SOFTWARE\
----JavaSoft\
------Java Development Kit
--------CurrentVersion

The Sun JDK installer should configure the appropriate keys for you

Hope this helps

Thankyou that did indeed help me.
I am now able to compile the java code.
Package is created. Having problems running it however?
Below is the diagnostic:
License file saxon-license.lic not found. Running in non-schema-aware mode
Exception in thread "main" java.lang.UnsupportedOperationException: You need the schema-aware version of Saxon for this operation

I checked the classpath and it does indeed include bin\saxonsa.jar

What do I need to do next?

In order to run Saxon Schema aware in your Java application you need to acquire a license from Saxonica.
http://www.saxonica.com/erol/erol.html

If schema support is not a requirement you can simply switch to Saxon Basic using the XQuery scenario dialog box and then re-generate the Java code.
