Samantha IveySubject: Pound (#) symbols appear instead of bullets or asterick
Author: Samantha Ivey

I have created several xsl documents and have tried several ways (for example: typing an actual bullet or asterick and creating a bulleted list) and when I view the document in Stylus as a PDF it appears as it should, but when it is loaded into our sales program and printed on a Lynux operating system, when they get the PDF, the bullets/astericks are replaced by 2 or 3 pound signs.

I don't understand what I am doing wrong, I am self taught in Stylus, not a computer programmer and am really getting frustrated.

Thanks!

Hi Samantha,
it could be a problem of fonts; maybe the PDF software used by your Linux server needs to be pointed to a font equivalent to the Symbol font used on Windows.

Hope this helps,
Alberto

Thank you very much for your assistance. I will discuss this with our IS department and see if that could be our problem.
