For some reason Activate worked today for me(I didn't retype the key), but still not for a co worker. he is getting 'Has not been able to connect to the license server yet'.

We have a two license key,
He made sure that the right key was typed in(copied from email) and that no spaces were before after the number.
I suspect that it is because of our secuity setup here(I am on a different subnet). Its just not a matter of configuring a proxy.

Can you help? Is there a number we can call to active it over the phone.

That error definitely indicates a connection issue; is Stylus Studio able to access the Internet? Stylus Studio uses https and/or http to connect to our activation server.

If the problem persists, please email stylusstudio@progress.com including the activation key(s) you are using and requesting to get "disconnected keys", which will allow you to authenticate even if connection problems exist.

Unless stylus uses IE proxy to connect to the internet then it shouldn't
be able to connect. For instance Firefox and other browsers aren't
able to connect because of the security in place.

Stylus should indeed use the IE proxy settings.

Anyway, as I mentioned, going the "disconnected key" path is probably the easiest way to proceed.
