Kurt WaldSubject: custom validation engines

By default Stylus Studio uses the xsd filename.extension without path if it resides in the same directory as the xml instance when selecting XML->Associate XML With Schema e.g.

<root xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:noNamespaceSchemaLocation="decimal.xsd">

Some validation engines do not work with such a pathless xsi:noNamespaceSchemaLocation attribute. Some need the file protocol with an absolute path, some even require / as path separator. The following works for all engines I have tested:

<root xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:noNamespaceSchemaLocation="file:///d:/XML/xsd/types/decimal.xsd">

To avoid the necessity of manual adjustment this could be generated by XML->Associate XML With Schema.

Hi Joseph,

Could you please tell us which schema validator does not support relative path?

Thanks

Hi Ivan,

I had this problem with the saxonica engine and a wrapper for woodstox/msv, but I am currently not able to reproduce it.
