Dean MeliaSubject: Wizard XML Schema to XML
Author: Dean Melia
Date: 20 May 2008 12:50 AM
Problem using Wizard to generate XML.
Immediately after the root element I have a choice. The Wizard selects the first branch of the choice and provides an XML file. This is valid. I would like to generate a valid sample XML for the second branch of a choice.

The XML generated for the second branch is currently being commented by the wizard. If I uncomment that (and comment the first branch) the uncommented XML is not valid. The error is:
'Untitled4.xml:13,18: FATAL ERROR: Expected comment or CDATA'
This is because the wizard has inserted a documentary comment at the attribute level when the attribute is optional. See below.
<p1:SourceLender LenderName="string" LenderParentName="string">
<!--Attribute LenderParentName is optional--> </p1:SourceLender>
was probably intended to be:
<p1:SourceLender LenderName="string" LenderParentName="string">
<!--Attribute LenderParentName is optional--> </p1:SourceLender>

Hi Dean,
XML doesn't allow comments inside comments, so the second one must be escaped to be legal; once you remove the comment you also have to convert the - back into '-'.

Hope this helps,
Alberto
