Does the Enterprise edition support schematron?

Is there anyone at Stylus who can answer this? This will likely depend on whether or not I will purchase Stylus. If schematron support is not included by default are there add-ons/plugins available?

No, Stylus Studio doesn't support Schematron.

is there any way to "add" it? I have been reading about the possibility of converting a schema(tron) file to an xslt and validating it with the converted schematron or schema. Also looks like a 3rd party tool called ValidatorBuddy lets you add schematron support to Altova XmlSpy - is there anything like this available for Stylus?

There are two ways you could add support for Schematron in Stylus Studio:
- As a custom XSLT document wizard: if there is a utility that converts a Schematron schema to XSLT, you can hook it up as an XSLT document wizard (Tools > Options > Custom Document Wizards), and then use it through File > Document Wizards...
- As a Custom Tool: that's probably the easiest thing to do; give a Schematron validation engine that you can invoke through a command line, you can configure it in Tools > options > Custom Tools and then invoke it from the Tools menu when the proper document is active

So, does anyone know of a utility that will make that transformation to XSLT code?

Hi Ian,
you can find some of these tools at http://www.schematron.com/validators.html: you first run (once) the meta-stylesheet on the document containing the rules, then you can run the compiled stylesheet on the XML documents to be validated.

Thanks for that. I searched and found blog entries by Rick Jelliffe, but should have looked at the URL you pointed to, first off.

ok so I finally got around to getting this working and it works. I created a .bat file and can run it from the tools menu just fine. At the end of my batch file I start a browser navigate to the schematron test results file:

start firefox.exe D:\Schematron\result.htm

How can I do this inside of Stylus Studio? So that the result.htm file will be displayed inside SS instead of in an external browser.

Hi,
Stylus Studio doesn't expect a custom tool to generate an HTML output (to be displayed in the Preview Window); it only reads its text output to be displayed in the Output Window.
But you could open the stylesheet generated by Schematron and run it under Stylus; in that case its output would be indeed been displayed in the Preview Window.
