Have an XML doc and have an AS400 database file with field descriptions (not a flat file). I can connect to the database on the AS400 but do not see the "relational DB" icon for selection when clicking "set target document"? How is this done so I can map elements of the XML to field names in the file within my AS400 database? Thanks in advance.....Don.

Hi Donald ,

You will need to establish a connection using File Explorer and then write an XQuery using the update capabilities of DataDirect XQuery.

So, I cannot add data directly from an XML doc to an existing database on the AS400 with Stylus Studio, or am I reading this or explaining this wrong?

Of course you can, you just need to write an update query in the Stylus Studio XQuery editor.

Did you watch the video tutorial?
