Hello,
I am a graduate student working on a project for our library. Our goal is to take the data in our athletic department's proprietary Stat Crew software and convert, map, or crosswalk it to TEI. We realized that TEI may not work for us, so we settled on SportsML as the XML schema to move our data to. My question is this, will the stylus XML to XML software allow us to do this? We need to have our final product in XML and not HTML, because XML is a preservation standard for our digital library collection and is more search-able while HTML is not. I have set up an excel spreadsheet to list all the elements and attributes of Stat Crew and try and target them to SportsML elements and attributes. This is difficult since some of them don't seem to map to each other. I am not that familiar with XML, but I am learning more everyday. If the software will work for us, then we may purchase it. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.
James

Hi James,
the XSLT Mapper can help you designing such transformations, by displaying the source and target layout and letting you drag & drop links between the different structures. Have a look at http://www.stylusstudio.com/xml_to_xml_mapper.html and download a trial copy to play with it.

Thanks,
Alberto

Thanks Alberto, I will download a copy. Will I have to know both of the languages elements and attributes and translate their potential meanings, or will the software do that for me?

Thanks again, and I will download a copy and play with it.

James
