My request is for an Installer that works correctly. I notice that Installshield is used as part of the development.

1). It is clear that the way Stylus Studio associates itself with the xml,xsl mime types is incorrect.

2). The uninstaller does not remove the 'Edit with Stylus Studio...' from the context menu.

3). For some reason when I now open an xml file in IE7 (which is in no way associated with Stylus studio) it decides that Stylus Studio is the associated appliaction to run the Shellex on. As i have uninstalled the stylus studio application i would imagine this would have been resolved.

Now I am in a position where without digging round the entire registry I cannot open an xml file in IE7 to check it structure and see in the .net DOM can validate the XML.

The installer clearly needs some testing and I would recommend using VMware to test the setup to ensure it can cope with multiple platforms and scenarios within those platforms. IMHO when releasing software to a set of users which will be within the development community this type of 'short fall' is unforgivable and will instantly turn the developers to alternatives. I can think of one editor which has been like a 'breath of fresh air'(pun intended).

An observation from a very irritated Developer
